Hands-on labs
learn, practise, move on

Labs ready to work in at the touch of a button, with professional scenarios that mirror real network environments.

A full workstation, checked as you work

Each participant gets a full working environment and carries out the tasks themselves. The platform checks the work in real time, verifies what was done, and offers help where it is needed.

The labs are open 24/7, outside course hours as well - for practising again, going deeper, and working hands-on without a limit.

The classroom in Shoham

What is in the labs

Five parts. Every course uses several of them, and the course page says which.

The rack

FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch and Cisco Catalyst switches, FortiAP access points and Peplink SD-WAN routers. Equipment that is configured, broken and fixed in every session.

The lab platform, on SpotNet's cloud

A platform of the academy's own, running on SpotNet's cloud. Each participant gets a full working environment - a FortiGate VM firewall, Linux, Windows Server and Kali Linux - carries out the tasks themselves, and the platform checks the work in real time. Open 24/7, outside course hours as well.

The classroom

Evening cohorts for individuals and intensive days for teams run in the same classroom in Shoham, on the same equipment.

Exam preparation

Practice exams in the format of the certification exam, on the topics the vendor publishes, and a walk-through of the answers with the instructors.

The instructors

Engineers from the group's own teams. During an exercise they are at the rack and at the workstations, moving between participants.

How a lab session runs

Four steps, in every course and on every part of the lab.

Brief

The instructors set the scenario - the network, the goal and what has to be working at the end - and the equipment it runs on.

Build

Each participant configures their own environment - the firewall, the switch, the network. Anyone who gets stuck gets help at the workstation.

Break

The instructors introduce a fault or an attack - a wrong rule, a route that has dropped, an attacker in the lab - and participants find it in the logs and the tools.

Fix and debrief

Fix it, check everything is back, and go over together what happened - and how the same thing looks in the exam and on the job.
